I was fishing north of the Highway 43 bridge with a friend on Ross Barnett Reservoir in Mississippi in 1966. I had this reel on a Fenwick Lunker Stik with a worm when I got a strike. When I set the hook, the rod slipped out of my hands and went into about 12 feet of water. There was a lot of brush and trees, so I was unable to find it. I went back the next day and after about 3 hours of dragging every stick out of the lake with treble hooks, I caught the rod. I broke the line getting it out because the hook was snagged. I shook most of the water out, re-rigged and on the first cast I caught a largemouth a little over 5 pounds. Talk about making an old country boy happy!
