My best memory of this reel was when I purchased it. I was at a fishing expo with some friends who convinced me that I should get into fishing tournaments and needed the right equipment. Because of the lifetime guarantee on this reel, I thought it would be easier to sell the purchase to my new wife. I spent $125 on a rod/reel combo and trembled all the way home to tell her about it. Well, 22 years later, I still have the reel and the same wife - guess it was a pretty good choice on both fronts.
