The Sonic braid's GlideCoat technology allows it to slip off the rod with hardly a sound. It also adds up to fewer wind knots and an all-around more manageable line.

Last year Stren broke new ground in the braided lines category, with the first fluorescent braid (Stren Microfuse). That added a new dimension to a lineup that already included Stren Super braid and Sinking braid.
New for the 2009 product line is Stren Sonic braid. It's made of the highest strength of Dyneema polyethylene (PE) fiber, stronger than steel at these line diameters.
The key thing about Sonic braid is that it features a remarkable GlideCoat technology that produces a fast-casting, super-smooth, quiet and wear-resistant braided line.
Let's face it, sometimes braid can be downright annoying to use, especially when tossing baits that have some resistance like crankbaits and spinnerbaits. There's nothing that can ruin a peaceful day of busting some bucketmouths than the high-pitched wheeze that most braided lines make as they grind through the eyes on a rod. But that sound is a thing of the past once you spool up with Sonic braid.
Less resistance means quieter, longer casts and longer-lasting rod guides. Sonic braid is also designed to last longer and hold color better.
Also of note is that Stren Sonic braid has a round, full-bodied construction that resists wind-knots and other handling problems found in ordinary braids.
"This is better than any braid I've ever fished with, and I've tried them all," said former bass pro and tv celebrity Bill Dance. "The castability is greatly improved and I got about 30 extra feet with Sonic braid. Plus after a full day of use, I couldn't tell any color difference in the line."
