The addition of Crazy Legs had added a new dimension to the proven Chigger Craw.

Which Berkley bait is likely to play the biggest role in the Bassmaster Classic at the Red River? BassFan surveyed several members of the company's pro staff who are competing in the event, and the nod went to the new Crazy Legs Chigger Craw.
The Crazy Legs concept was adopted from some of the company's grubs and soft jerkbaits and applied to the Chigger Craw, which played a major role in Boyd Duckett's Classic victory at Lay Lake in 2007.
Following is a synopsis of the answers BassFan received to the question above.
Bobby Lane
"The Crazy Legs Chigger Craw – it's kind of a Power Hawg and crawdaddy mix and it has more action than other craws, but it still has that creature-bait look. It's a hot thing.
"I also like the Power Hawg because a creature bait is always good when fish are trying to spawn in oxbows. It looks like something that's in there making a commotion, and fish see it as a predator in the area they're fixing to use. They want to kill it."
Greg Pugh
"The way I'm fishing, the Crazy Legs Chigger Craw is a bait that should get bit. The biggest factor is my mindset – when I get confidence in something, I like to stick with it. The absolute biggest thing for me is the confidence factor."
Skeet Reese
"The Crazy Legs Chigger Craw is a bad little dude. They've added the tentacles that give it that slow swimming action, and that's something we didn't have in our lineup before."
Boyd Duckett
"The Chigger Craw will probably be my primary bait again. You'll see me putting a big weight on in – an ounce and a quarter or an ounce and a half – and flipping the mats. I'll also be pitching it with a 3/8-ounce weight. It's what I've been getting most of my bites on.
"A lot of people are going to want to throw a jig, but with all the pressure in those popular areas, I think you're going to start seeing some short strikes on them. If that happens, I might go with a Chigger Chunk in some kind of finesse or dropshot presentation."
Byron Velvick
"I like the Crazy Legs Chigger Craw both as a flipping bait and for casting. It's easy to cast on a light weight, like 3/16-ounce.
"Also, the Chigger Chunks are great little trailers for a variety of different baits."
