The newest Patriarch weighs just 6.8 ounces, which makes it easy to work from sunrise to sunset. It incorporates the latest in technical achievements and established, performance-proven features and is easily the most advanced Pflueger reel ever manufactured.

To help shed weight but add durability, the Patriarch XT features a rigid aluminum frame encased with titanium-coated aluminum sideplates. The titanium coating resists scratching and protects against corrosion, even in saltwater conditions. The machined, double-anodized aluminum spool is ported for additional weight reduction, and the handle's made of carbon-fiber (with EVA knobs).

High-test internals include nine double-shielded, stainless-steel bearings, one-way clutch instant anti-reverse bearing, precision-cut aluminum gears with a 6.4:1 gear ratio, a main-gear applied star drag with carbon-fiber washers and a titanium line guide.

The reel also incorporates the patented Ultimate Brake System that combines centrifugal and magnetic brakes for a limitless range of cast control to overcome any fishing condition. The centrifugal brake is a sealed six-pin adjustable system to control spool speed and prevent backlashes at the beginning of the cast. The magnetic brake is externally adjustable and slows the spool down near the end of the cast to prevent line overrun.
