Sometimes it's difficult to stay on top of all the new-product releases – especially for companies like Berkley with its comprehensive and expansive line of soft-plastics.
But as all hardcore anglers know, fish become conditioned to certain baits and presentations, so it's critical to keep up with trends in tackle development and always experiment with new shapes and actions.
If you have yet to pick up a few packs of the new 4 3/4" Berkley PowerBait Slim Shaky worm, right now's the perfect time to give the hot worms a toss.
Up north, the bass are bedding and a shaky-head worm pitched onto beds or under docks is a deadly presentation.
And down south or out west, fish are either in post-spawn or full summer patterns, and fishing a deep shaky-head on ledges, rockpiles and along creek channels can load the boat quick.
What's different about the Berkley Slim Shaky? For one, it's a segmented worm with a unique tail that creates more "shake." The colors were hand-selected by Berkley's powerhouse pro staff – these are the identical colors pros like Larry Nixon, Jay Yelas and Skeet Reese use. And of course, the worms packed with the PowerBait scent that's been proven effective for decades. Fish hold onto PowerBait up to 18 times longer than they do standard plastics.
Whether on a dropshot, a shaky-head or a split-shot rig, it's a deadly worm. Try it before everyone else on your lake does.
